 WELCOME

As you enter the wooden floored shop, the first thing you see on your right is the front half of the long free standing counter.  As you step forward and look to your left, you see a full wall of small jars and bottles on rows of shelves that reach the ceiling. The jars are different sizes and shapes and the bottles are clear glass, mostly tall and slender containing liquids of varying colors and viscosity.

Looking up straight ahead of you is the far wall, which is mostly a window into the small garden behind the shop where a lot of the herbs are grown.  To the right of the window is a half-wall shelf that houses books of varying size and thickness.  One of particular interest is a large leather-bound volume on a stand designed specifically for it.  It is the only book in the shop that is not for sale.  But it is the most often used book Kerrinne has as she wrote it. it is a book of herbs and antidotes.  Anyone coming into the shop may ask whatever questions they have of Kerrinne and if she has knowledge of it, she will help where she can.

On the top shelf sits a large basket of small sacks made of different materials.  Some are velvet in varying colors, some are cotton and some are silk.  Within these sacks are Rune stones, made for the Nook by a local jeweler with jewels mined out of the Malacian Mountains.  Just ask if you can't find a set in a stone you like.

If you turn back to the right, and the counter, you see that the counter makes a right angle from the original part of the counter you saw as you walked in a moment or so ago.  On this side of the counter you see a small array of jewelry in varying metals. There are several pentacles with different stones imbedded in the centers, rings with a multitude of stones set into them, and a couple of glass and wooden wands with places to add your own stones.

On the top of the counter, you see a basket of rough cut stones: amethyst, rose quartz, crystals of different shades, agate, lapis lazuli and a multitude of others. Kerrinne, again, calls on her local jeweler to cut the stones to fit any mounting and she's happy to offer his services to you for a small fee.

In the corner just behind you stands a large board, upon which a black slate has been attached. Today, written in gray chalk, the board reads:

To Remove a Headache...

...rub your forehead with a stone and
then cover the stone with soil.
The ache is said to be absorbed by the soil.
~Alternately, you can rub a headache away
by rubbing a horseshoe on your forehead.
( A piece of iron is said to work just as well )

Now look behind the counter and meet your hostess. Kerrinne Lynne MacMillan, proprietor of the Healer's Nook, Queen of the Land of Ivory. She is most notorious for running the Brotherhood of Darkness longer than any past commander and some say more successfully. Further, she was a founding member of the Underground RhyDin, and today manipulates it as though she led it. Perhaps it is odd that this woman would run a healer's shop, but perhaps it makes perfect sense. A good assassin always knows how to get healed, after all.

But Kerrinne's just there. She's been here all along or has she? You have an eerie feeling that makes you wonder if it's really her, because sometimes she doesn't seem all the way here. She waits for you to speak with a knowing and slightly devious smile on her face.
