Kerrih and Karrah made their way to RhyDin, or as it was spelled in those days - RyDin (Q-Link), from their homeland of Lochinver, Scotland. They traveled over through the treacherous waters and then through the fickle and often innavigable Nexus to reach RhyDin. They were not alone though as many people coming to RhyDin for the first time were. First, being twins they had each other. Second, their grandfather, Karal Bairde MacMillan (KBMac aka GuideKB) and their grandmother, Korrina Annsley MacMillan (Korrina) were among the first handful of pioneers to the city. They were a part of the team that built the Red Dragon Inn, board by board.
The girls were sixteen when they first set foot on the ever-changing soil of RhyDin. The smell of wood from all the new buildings was fresh in the air, and Kerrih to this day remarks how her memory can still smell that scent when she walks through old downtown RhyDin. RhyDin was a different place in those days. The numbers of people that lived there were few, so pretty much every one knew everyone else or most certainly at least of them. The girls came to live with their grandparents at first in the castle they had built, Castle Blythe. At the time, Castle Blythe was located just on the outskirts of downtown RhyDin.
Kerrih found herself immersed in the social life the inns provided RhyDin. Karrah became a little distant, but she still mingled in the crowds now and again. She was just not as outspoken and ready to fit in as Kerrih was. After a while, they got their own apartment (once some were built) and named it the House of Clouds for they said their dreams soared up into the skies. RhyDin was a place of promise and hope in those days for every pioneer who came to touch its soil seeking freedom and adventure free of persecution.
Kerrih got a job as a tender in one of the prominent inns and taverns (not the RDI) in RhyDin, and Karrah did odds and ends work for their grandfather's smithing business since they were both pyromancers. (NOTE: Kerrih had no known magical powers at the time, but she did have an uncanny ability to speak to animals especially animals of flight.) Things in their apartment seemed to be going well at first, only those with keen eyes could sense the two slowing drawing away from the closeness they always shared prior.
By the time they were seventeen, Kerrih had been quite popular with the fellows in RhyDin - though she didn't necessarily have intercourse with them (Bill Clinton's definition of intercourse that is). Anyway, her boyfriends came and went usually faster than anyone could keep up with. She always said she got bored too easily with them. It was easy to understand for she was a highly intelligent woman and men that didn't fit up to her own standards of herself were simply put aside in the end. She began also mingling in politics. It is here that she trained in the intriguing world of politics under Kebon the Sage (KebontS in 1987) who was just elected Mayor of RhyDin.
Karrah finally met a fellow she took high interest in named Flandan Reynolds (NPC) who was a bard. It was looking like the couple might settle down together. They spent nearly all their free time together, and when he was looking for a place to perform in Karrah suggested the tavern where her sister, Kerrih, worked. He met Kerrih his first night performing there and that was the turning point in the relationship of the twins. He instantly fell in love with Kerrih's personality and outgoing ways. In secret behind Karrah's back, Flandan and Kerrih had arranged to meet several times and partake in romantic and passionate interludes.
For a long time Flandan and Kerrih kept their relationship secret with Flandan still carrying on with Karrah in public and around the MacMillan family. Kerrih still saw other men on the side as well, some for public image and some because she was just not the type to be happy with anyone for long. Though she still met with Flandan quite frequently (once a day or two) in private.
What they did not know was that Karrah had found out about their secret relationship (1988), and during this time she had discovered dark magics of the necromancers and the occultists. On the evenings while Flandan was busy making love to her twin sister behind her back, Karrah worked in a rundown castle she found in the desert named Castle Magdor. Painstakingly she learned the ways of the dark magic that would come to corrupt every aspect of her including her mind.
Meanwhile, professionally, Kerrih turned from being a tender and the town gossip to working Intel. She became so intertwined with the secret dealings in RhyDin that many were drawn to her logic and her sense of organization and her ability to prioritize. It is here her ruthlessness in business dealings began to emerge, and it is here that she created a legacy - the Underground RhyDin (UR) (1989). Slowly and with a lot of sweat, tears, and loss of blood, she built an empire for herself. This action seated her on top of the political world of RhyDin at the time.
