Enter the Darkness

Since one sect of the RoL was having a dandy time branding her as someone who was evil and working for the darkness, Kerrinne decided to make their words truth instead of the lies that they were. She left the RoL to fully join the BoD at Potts' urging. Kerrinne had known Potts Cest' Evalion personally through her cousin Keelia, who loved nothing more than to go and annoy Potts on a daily basis.

Potts was in the process of trying to get the BoD through one of those 'pockets of death' that guilds experience in RhyDin. Kerrinne joined the ranks to work under Rosa Dragon - Potts' wife as SiC of the Healing Division. Kerrinne knew a lot about herbs and alchemy, but she really knew very little about the healing aspects of those things. Rosa became her professor of sorts, and Kerrinne was happy to follow under her lead publicly while working odds and ends intel jobs for the BoD behind closed doors.

Soon Potts would leave and Rosa would follow. The BoD went through temporary leaderships with Maleketh and Pogromiel. Both she came to know a little and both she trusted even less than she knew. Though under them she managed to move her way up to leader of the Healing Division upon Rosa's departure. She met people like Mortana and Huma Dragonbane at this time, and started a new circle of friends. Kerrinne ended up marrying Huma once RhyDin City Government officially declared her husband as dead. Once your spouse was missing for so many years, he/she could be legally declared dead. Both of them married each other mostly out of their grief of losing the spouse they loved dearly - Kerrinne with Vois and Huma with Besel. The marriage would be short-lived though, as Huma would up and disappear from RhyDin not even two weeks after their wedding.

Kerrinne filed the papers to have the marriage annulled and went about her business. The BoD was slow going, and it really looked at this point like it was faltering in a major way. Lack of stable and compassionate leadership was taking its toll on the legendary Brotherhood of Darkness and it looked like it really could be the end of the infamous guild. Kerrinne used this time to attempt to work her way back into where she thought she had belonged - working with light guilds.

A nephew of Sir Fenith, William Fenith and his wife reformed the Warriors of Light guild. Kerrinne agreed to join this new incarnation of the WoL working Intel. Around this time, Vois returned from the wars in homeland out of the blue. Kerrinne instantly fell in love with him for a second time, recruited him into the ranks of the WoL after she told him what had become of the RoL, and remarried him. They were happy for a short time together again, until he was called away to his homeland a second time. Kerrinne's heart couldn't keep this up, and she knew it. With his parting, she filed for divorce - and she made up her mind that she would not marry Vois again even if he did return to RhyDin. She loved him too much to tolerate the heartbreak of his leaving and not knowing when or if he would return. While not married to him, she will love Vois until the day she draws her last breath.

The WoL didn't seem to be able to put Kerrinne's talents to work as she thought they might, so bored she entered into a conversation with Varick Rehegar who was now leading the BoD again. He was rebuilding the BoD and moving into a new guild government (LoRDs). He asked Kerrinne to come home where she belonged. The first tug of loyalty to a guild outside of the RoL began to form in Kerrinne under Varick's reign. He was very good at making people feel loyal to the BoD; in fact that was probably his best asset as leader. They became the best of friends and confidantes that would outlast all his marriages to her friends Sita and then Bryannae.

In the BoD, she made some new friends such as Sita, Bry, Cami, Rehn, and many others. It was another great time for her where she felt like she was starting to fit in. She felt like she had a home once again. Varick was a smart leader - probably the smartest Kerrinne had ever worked for, because he knew Kerrinne was not the type of person who liked to do nothing. He constantly gave her projects and work to do that kept her workaholic nature satisfied.

For a while Sita came to lead the BoD in Varick's absence. Sita had assigned Kerrinne on a mission to spy on the BoWE for the BoD once BoWE had their tiff with her and left the BoD. Kerrinne would come to make acquaintances with the likes of Lok'ial Maskim, Claude Tompkin, Nathanial Murrigu, and Anthony Rayner. These political associations would not only help with her intel work, but it would provide a backdrop for the BoD's atmosphere in the next years to come.

Varick removed Sita from the guild and from her leadership position once he woke up and realized that in his absence she single handedly was destroying the BoD from the inside out with her corruptness. Kerrinne vowed to remain friends with her even after she departed the BoD for two reasons. One, Kerrinne and Sita had been through a lot together. Two, Kerrinne never liked to burn bridges completely. You never knew when you'd have use for someone again at a later time...

The guild government the BoD was in at this time started falling apart partly due to this corruption that stemmed from Sita. A lot of mistrust was circulating, and so the BoD would withdraw from it. After some time trying to adjust to all that upheaval, Varick retired formally and handed the reigns of the BoD over to Loki'al Maskim who had left the BoWE. Along with him came Claude Tompkin and then Anthony Rayner. It was decided that Kerrinne would head up the Brotherhood of Assassins for the BoD in the RWC, Sabyne would head up the healing guild, MO. Raduereil Meresin helped both ladies set up their guilds and learn the latest RWC regulations.

Talissia was put in charge of the Elite Order of Darkness (EOoD) that Loki had started underneath Varick's leadership just before he retired. This was a very difficult time for Kerrinne, first because she felt somewhat betrayed by Loki who she was spending quite some time with before all of the sudden, he showed up as an 'item' with Talissia. Kerrinne never forgave Loki for that, and her opinion of him lowered quite a bit. It would come to lower further as she watched him 'lead' the BoD.

Some others that were in the BoD that Kerrinne became close to at this time were Lily Light and Borael Ironstaff. Kerrinne had been part of the High Council off and on for quite some time now in the BoD, and so she would come to the meetings. Seldom did she have input, but when she did it was usually something quite pertinent. So it was when she spoke up in one meeting that perhaps shocked most people.

She was tired of the men in the BoD under Loki'al's reign getting all the work and the important positions while the women were being shuffled to do things like be a member greeter or keep rosters up to date. Kerrinne knew better than most that women played an important role in the BoD's history and should never be discounted in such a way of the BoD's present or future. Perhaps the sexism was not intentional on Loki'al's part, but it was there. And it was very evident to anyone looking in from the outside. When Loki'al demoted Lily from Diplomatic Ambassador to a suggestion by Mortana of Member Greeter so one of Loki's buddies could assume the role of Ambassador, Kerrinne went over the edge.

She knew at this point, she could not work under or for a man of this nature. She was a professional, and obviously this Loki'al Maskim was not. Knowing there was nothing she could do about the situation right now that wouldn't tear the guild apart, she decided to follow Varick off to a new world called Norrath leaving behind the BoD. She was certain the future would hold a place for her in the BoD in RhyDin for it was only a matter of time before leaders like Loki'al disappear or are replaced or outright destroy the guild they lead.
